Nutritional Assessment - The Science of Nutrition
After reaching the peri-menopause I realised that the menopause was being looked at in the wrong way.
Hot flushes, insomnia, sore joints, weight gain all took their toll on me, but with the right focus I realised that I could thrive during this part of this stage of life transition. But, in order for this to happen I realised that my lifestyle, diet and mindset needed to shift. I worked on a program that enabled me to make the changes I needed and desired.
How can I help you?
I work with clients 1-2-1. At your first session we will discuss your symptoms, such as what’s been happening, and how you are eating at the moment. It is useful to keep.a food diary before your appointment and I. may ask you to do this afterwards too.
I will provide you with a personal plan with reasons why I have suggested each dietary change. I'll explain why certain foods can help you with any particular issues you are facing. We will then schedule a session every 4 weeks, to see how you’re progressing, look at what’s working and find out if at all what you are struggling with or where we need to make any adjustments to your plan.
There is no good and bad with this, and any change in diet and lifestyle takes practice until new ways become newly formed habits. I will never ask you to eat foods you don’t like. Between appointments I’m also here to help with any concerns or queries that may arise.
What does it cost?
The first session lasts one hour and costs £70. This includes a personal nutrition programme, targeted to help resolve your issues, handouts, links to further reading and of course ongoing support over the first month. I want to make sure you have everything you need to get started, plus you fully understand why I’ve asked you to make specific changes and how that can help with your problems. A follow up at around 4 weeks is ideal. In this 45 minute session we see how you are getting on, what’s working and what you are struggling with.
How long does it take?
Please be patient, It can take a few months to see the effect of a new diet or fitness regime, but rest assured, if you stick at it, you will get results!
